The next First Friday Happy Hour
will be on Friday, July 12, 2013

This will actually be the SECOND Friday.
We're moving it so as not to compete
with the Independence Day holiday.

Special VIP Guest-of-Honor:
Taxpayer champion Grover Norquist
of Americans for Tax Reform!

aSince August 2009, Citizen Outreach and KDWN 720 AM have hosted a monthly First Friday Happy Hour in Las Vegas which has regularly pulled in hundreds of people – including lots of movers-and-shakers in the local and state political world.

First Friday is held at Bahama Breeze in the Hughes Center (northwest corner of Flamingo & Paradise) from 5 to 7 p.m. on the first Friday of every month.

The big draw has often been interesting, high-profile VIP speakers to serve as guests of honor.

In addition to Nevada political figures – such as Govs. Guinn, Gibbons and Sandoval, Sen. Heller, Reps. Heck and Amodei, and Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman (our only two-time VIP guest of honor; but since it’s a happy hour, I’m sure you can understand why!).

We’ve also featured non-politicians such as Jon Ralston, UNLV basketball coach David Rice, local race car driver Dylan Kwasniewski, Louie Prima Jr. and Rich Little.

We’ve also featured many out-of-state speakers, such as Herman Cain, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, former Governors George Pataki and Gary Johnson, former Reps. John Shadegg, J.D. Hayworth and Tom Tancredo, talk-show host Roger Hedgecock, Grover Norquist of Americans for Tax Reform, and authors such as Jack Abramoff, Ilario Pantano and Christine O’Donnell.

We even honored Kim Munley, the woman cop from Texas who took down the Ft. Hood shooter a couple years ago!

The First Friday Happy Hour is open to the public.  A voluntary $5 donation is requested at the door to help defray the cost of flying in out-of-town speakers.  But if you’re running a little short on cash, don’t let that stop you.  We don’t call it HAPPY HOUR for nothing; we’ll just be happy to have you join us.
